Section 08 Symptoms of Overexposure
| Symptoms of Ingestion: |
Irritating to the gastrointestinal tract. |
| Symptoms of Inhalation: |
If misted in concentrated form, which is improper use, can cause irritation
of the mucous membrane, nose. eye and throat. |
| Symptoms of Skin Contact: |
May cause dermatitis or irritation in some individuals upon prolonged
contact. Localised skin defatting can be expected from concentrated material
on long contact. |
| Symptoms of Eye Contact: |
Causes painful stinging or burning of eyes and lids, watering of eye,
conjunctivitis, and in concentrated undiluted form may cause opaqueness
of cornea, possibly leading to loss of eye sight. |
Section 09 Emergency First Aid
| For ingestion of concentrate: |
Do not induce vomiting. Immediately give plenty of
water or milk. Call a physician. Treatment should be directed at the control
of symptoms and the clinical condition of the patient. There is no specific
antidote. |
| For Skin: |
As for all foreign materials, wash off concentrate and dilute use solutions
with water. Remove clothing which has been saturated by concentrate. Do
not allow prolonged contact with the concentrated undiluted material as
toxic amounts can be absorbed. |
| For Eyes: |
Immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.
Hold eyelids apart to ensure complete rinsing of the entire surface of the
eye and lids with water. If irritation persists, Get Medical Attention. |
| Ventilation: |
Use with adequate ventilation. Working solution should not present any
specific hazard. If misted or aerosol generated, local or mechanical exhaust
is recommended. |
Section 10 Occupational Control Procedures
| Respiratory Protection: |
Not required under normal working/use conditions. |
| Eye Protection: |
Not normally required. Use if mist will get into the eyes in specific
applications. |
| Skin Protection: |
Use gloves if hands will be continuously in solution. Not normally necessary
in general use. |
| Personal Hygiene: |
As in handling any detergent, wash thoroughly after use. |
Section 11 Precautions for Safe Handling Storage and Use
| Precautionary Measures: |
Avoid contact with eyes and prolonged contact of concentrate
with skin. Avoid breathing misted vapours. Use with adequate ventilation.
Do not store at elevated temperatures. |
| Spills Clean-up Procedures: |
Concentrated materials are packed in small bags (650 ml) limiting any
spills to very small quantities. Paper towelling or mopping is sufficient. |
| Disposal Method: |
Bags should be rinsed out when product is diluted for use and then disposed
of in normal waste. |
General Note about Solo Pak Products
Solo Pac WashBrite formulation is similar to other commercial
and domestically available liquid laundry detergents.
The sachet system used for packaging Solo Pak products into
small unit dosed bags (175 ml in this case) limits the amount of exposure of
the concentrate to very small amounts. Spills can be cleaned up with paper towelling
or by mopping. We know of no serious hazards associated with the proper use
and handling of this product.
